Your Opinion Matters: Share Your Vision for Kyle’s Parkside Restaurant

We’re exploring ideas for a new restaurant that will serve as a vibrant gateway between Heroes Memorial Park and the Brick and Mortar District—and we want your input.

The City of Kyle is planning a park-oriented restaurant next to Heroes Memorial Park, in the Brick and Mortar District, and we want to know what kind of place you’d most like to dine!

Is it a place to take that special someone? A restaurant that’s all about family or one that offers up an elevated experience. Tell us what you think through our community survey that gives you the chance to share feedback on the type of dining experience that best fits this unique, park-oriented location at SurveyMonkey.com/r/HeroesRestaurant.

Designed to bridge Heroes Memorial Park and the Brick and Mortar District, the restaurant would serve as a welcoming gateway that connects green space with the district’s vibrant, walkable urban setting.

“Heroes Memorial park was created to honor military veterans, first responders, and community heroes,” said City of Kyle Economic Development Administrator Victoria Vargas. “We want this restaurant to add to the investments already made to the area while complementing the nearby park and long-term vision of the Brick and Mortar district.”

The future restaurant site, a roughly 1-acre city-owned pad, is designed to accommodate a building of up to 5,000 square feet and is envisioned to include an outdoor patio dining option that overlooks Heroes Memorial Park.

Additionally, the restaurant is part of Kyle’s long-term vision for the Brick and Mortar District, one of Kyle’s fastest-growing areas. Located at the corner of FM 1626 and Kohlers Crossing, the Brick and Mortar District is a 138-acre mixed use district that includes a retail center, anchored by Sprouts Farmers Market, and an additional 18,000 square feet for other retail tenants. When complete, the district is expected to include approximately 2,500 residences, 150,000 square feet of retail space, 250,000 square feet of office space, and 35 acres of parks and trails.

In the past several years, the area has continued to take shape with the city making significant public investments in the area including new streets, utilities, lighting, landscaping, parking and the establishment of the Kyle Cultural Trail, which connects Heroes Memorial Park to nearby La Verde Park and future local destinations.

The City of Kyle selected Common Ground as the preferred developer through a competitive RFP process. Survey feedback will be used to help identify restaurant concepts that reflect community preferences and narrow the list of potential options. Project updates are expected to be presented to City Council at an upcoming meeting in February or March.
