To help improve traffic flow and make daily drives a little easier, work is underway along Kohlers Crossing at two nearby intersections, Kyle Crossing and Marketplace Avenue.
The City of Kyle Transportation and Public Works Department, including the City of Kyle’s traffic engineer, reviewed traffic conditions at both intersections after residents shared concerns about delays. Based on current traffic patterns, the analysis showed that extending the existing left turn lanes and adding an acceleration lane would help traffic move more smoothly, especially during peak hours.
At the Kyle Crossing intersection, the roadway previously operated as a four-way stop before a traffic signal was installed in 2025. That signal, along with the extension of the left turn lane from Kohlers Crossing onto Kyle Crossing, reflects our commitment to balancing safety, traffic needs, and available funding.
At the nearby Marketplace Avenue intersection, crews are constructing a new acceleration lane west of the intersection and extending the existing left turn lane from Kohlers Crossing onto Marketplace Avenue. Together, the improvements at both intersections are designed to help traffic move more efficiently along this busy stretch of Kohlers Crossing.
Construction on the turn lane improvements is expected to be completed by May, weather permitting. Drivers may notice temporary lane shifts during construction and are encouraged to slow down and follow posted signage.
This work demonstrates the City of Kyle’s ongoing, proactive approach to traffic management. Conditions across Kyle are regularly evaluated, and this critical intersection will continue to be reviewed to identify future improvements as the city grows.

• Construction to lengthen the existing turn bays is being completed by Lonestar Siteworks at a cost of approximately $500,000.
• The traffic signal installed in 2025 was constructed by EZ Bel Construction, with a contract amount of approximately $500,000.
• A separate study is underway to evaluate potential long-term improvements. That study will include a preliminary schematic and refined cost estimates, and is expected in April 2026.
