The City of Kyle is celebrating national recognition after its Communications Department brought home multiple honors from the National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors (NATOA) Annual Conference.

NATOA’s annual conference is one of the most prestigious events in local government communications, bringing together multimedia professionals from across the country. This year, Kyle’s video production team showcased its talent and creativity on a national stage—and came home with awards to prove it.

Among the highlights:

1st Place, Social Media Campaign/Series2024 Grinch Holiday Series

1st Place, On-Camera Talent – The Grinch (no we will not be revealing his identity)

2nd Place, Event Coverage2024 Kyle Fair Recap Video

3rd Place, State of the City Video – filmed at 2024 City Fest, standing out in a highly competitive national category

In addition to these honors, Film and Audio Manager Grant Bowling represented Kyle on a NATOA panel, sharing insights on how the City has successfully adapted long-form videos for YouTube and PEG channels into short-form vertical content for social media—a strategy that continues to boost community engagement.

None of this could be possible without the help of Team Kyle, particularly the Kyle Police Department, Assistant Police Chief Pedro Hernandez, Officer Matthew Leathers, the entire video production crew, and of course The Grinch for taking time out of his busy schedule to bring laughter, joy and entertainment to everyone in Kyle.

These awards shine a spotlight on Kyle’s commitment to innovative storytelling and community connection—making sure residents stay informed in ways that are both creative and memorable.

Stay tuned as we continue our Grinch Holiday Safety series. We’re back again this November and December with a fresh batch of tips and information on how best to keep the most wonderful time of the year safe and happy. For more information, visit CityofKyle.com/GrinchWatch.
