Parks and Recreation Events
Jams on the Green – April 2
Join us for a FREE community concert in the heart of Kyle! As the sun sets, settle in for live music, great food, and a relaxed, high-energy atmosphere. Bring your lawn chairs, grab a bite from local food vendors, and enjoy an evening of live music with Buffaloe and the Heard at La Verde Park on April 2, from 6-9 p.m.
Paint and Sip – April 3
Grab your friends and a bottle of wine and join us Friday, April 3 from 7-9 p.m. at 208 Republic Drive, Suite A. to experience a social and fun atmosphere where our artist instructor will walk you step-by-step to complete a piece of artwork. Easter Egg-Stravaganza – April 4
Update: This event has been canceled due to the forecasted weather. But the fun isn’t over, we’re hosting an Easter Egg Distribution in the Kyle Public Library lobby from 9 a.m. to noon on April 4. Stop by to pick up a FREE bag of pre-filled eggs and enjoy a fun at-home egg hunt once the weather clears.
Get the family together and hop on over to Lake Kyle Park for the Easter Egg-Stravaganza on Saturday, April 4 from 10 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. This fun-filled, community event includes a spectacular Easter Egg drop for children of nearly all ages and abilities as well as food and drink vendors, arts and crafts vendors, music, face painting, games Easter Bunny photo opportunities and much more.



April Social Squad – April 7
Come check out the Social Squad, a social club for adults (15+) with disabilities. This month we’re celebrating Spring with an evening of themed activities focused on social interaction, creativity, and community connection on Tuesday, April 7 from 6-7:30 p.m. This inclusive program provides opportunities to build friendships in a relaxed and welcoming setting.
Kyle Market Days – April 11
Enjoy those beautiful Texas mornings and support local vendors at the April Market Days on Saturday, April 11 from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Mary Kyle Hartson Park.Visitors can check out local vendors, including food, drink, arts and crafts, and farm-to-market items while enjoying live music, Performing at April Market Days starting at 10:30 a.m. is Sour Bridges.
Adaptive Field Day – April 15
Join our Therapeutic Recreation Division for Adaptive Field Day, an evening of inclusion, movement, and fun on Wednesday, April 15 at Lake Kyle Park from 6-8 p.m. Featuring adapted games, creative play stations, sensory‑friendly spaces, and plenty of encouragement, this free event is thoughtfully designed for individuals with varying physical and cognitive disabilities. Inclusive Movie in the Park – April 17
Join us for a special inclusive movie night featuring the inspiring Disney film Out of My Mind on Friday, April 17 at Gregg-Clarke Park starting at 8 p.m. This heartwarming and eye-opening story follows a bright and determined girl who uses a wheelchair and lives with a disability as she navigates school, friendships, and finding her voice.
Tiny Tot Triathlon – April 18
Join us for our Tiny Tot Triathlon on Saturday, April 18 from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m. Gregg-Clarke Park! The Tiny Tot Triathlon is a mini-triathlon for kiddos between the ages of 3-8 years old. The Triathlon will feature a route with biking, walking/running, and a cool down in the pool. Registration and a small fee are required to participate. Sign up at KyleRec.RecDesk.com.



Kyle Public Library Events
Beginner Watercolor Class – April 2
Let stress slide away as you enter a space filled with warm light, soft brushwork, and drifting watercolor hues. Under the encouraging instruction of Ms. Va, you’ll explore simple watercolor techniques while colors bloom and blend in the most relaxing way. This event begins at 6 p.m.
This is a ticketed event. Tickets will be available 30 minutes before the program.
Master Gardeners: Laws of the Land…scape – April 4
Learn the ins and outs of landscaping laws in Texas at this informative session presented by Julienne VanDerZiel of the Hays County Master Gardeners. Join us at 1 PM to gain a better understanding of the rules and regulations that impact your outdoor spaces, and get helpful guidance for planning and maintaining your landscape with confidence.
Teen Resume Workshop – April 7
Hey Teens! Are you looking to land that summer job? Attend this workshop at 5:30 p.m. to learn how to get started or improve your resume.
As a bonus, this workshop will help you be ready for the Teen Job Fair being held at the Kyle Public Library on Saturday, April 18.
Coffee and Conversation – April 10
Meet new friends and reconnect with old ones. At 10 a.m., we will offer coffee, tea, light snacks, and a variety of puzzles to work on together while you chat. If you enjoy crocheting, feel free to bring your supplies and enjoy the company of others while you create.
Littles Prom – April 11
You are cordially invited to the 2nd annual KPL Littles Prom on April 11 at 2 p.m. Bring your littles ones in their favorite dress, suit, or other party attire for some dancing, snacks, and crafts! We will provide all the décor, snacks, and fun. (Or if they prefer to come as a fairy, dinosaur, or other fun outfit, that totally works too.) Photo ops will be available.


Teen Interview Workshop – April 14
Are you a teen looking to land that summer job? Learn how to make an impression that will help you stand out! Additionally, receive tips on how to handle spontaneous, on-the-spot interviews, such as those that occur during job fairs.
This workshop will help you prepare for the Teen Job Fair being held at the Kyle Public Library on Saturday, April 18.
Crafty Creations: Faux Stained Glass Art – April 15
Join us at 1 p.m. to create a stunning work of art that captures the luminous beauty of classic stained glass by using simple materials such as paint, outlines, Sharpies, and a picture frame. No glass cutting required!
Storytelling Night – April 16
Share your story and discover your voice every 3rd Thursday at 6 p.m. Whether you craft something original or reimagine a familiar tale, this is your space to play, experiment, and connect. Explore our theme or choose a topic that inspires you. We’ll create the atmosphere—your imagination does the rest.
April’s theme is Poetry.
Teen Job Fair – April 18
From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., meet recruiters from Kyle and other businesses that are interested in hiring teens just like you. There will be volunteering opportunities for ages 13 – 17, and employment opportunities for ages 16 and up. As a bonus, get a professional headshot taken at the event! No registration required or prior work experience needed.
Earth Day Celebration – April 22
Join the Kyle Public Library, Kyle Parks & Recreation Conservation Division, and Kyle Stormwater for a special Earth Day Celebration on April 22, from 3 to 5 PM. This free family-friendly event will feature Earth Day-themed crafts and activities, along with engaging demonstrations.
The event will take place at the Kyle Public Library. Whether you’re looking to get creative, gain new knowledge, or simply celebrate the beauty of our planet, this event offers something for everyone.
Adult Resume Workshop – April 23
A powerful resume is your key to unlocking great new career opportunities. On April 23 at 6 p.m., learn how to tailor your resume to match your skills to employment opportunities that suit you.
As an added benefit, you will be prepared to make a strong impression at the upcoming Adult Career Fair at the Kyle Public Library on Wednesday, April 29.
Page Turners Book Club – April 23
The Page Turners Book Club invites readers to connect over a shared love of books. Every 4th Thursday at 6:45 p.m., members explore a new title and come together for lively discussions, thoughtful insights, and community connection in a welcoming environment.
Our April read is The Sirens by Emilia Hart. This atmospheric novel blends mystery, history, and a touch of the supernatural as it follows women across generations whose lives are connected by the sea—and the secrets it holds.
Interview Tips Workshop – April 24
Your resume and cover letter got you to the interview stage! Now what? On April 24 at 3 p.m., learn how to make a strong impression that helps you stand out! Get tips on how to handle impromptu interviews, such as those that might occur at job fairs.

Bubbles, Bubbles, and More Bubbles! – April 25
Spring is in bloom at the library. We are celebrating with a bubble party on April 25 at 11 a.m.!
Join us for a whimsical wonderland filled with colorful bubbles of all shapes and sizes! From tiny bubbles that tickle your nose to gigantic bubbles that dance in the air, there’s something magical for every little one to enjoy. Bring your little bubble enthusiasts to the library to make a splash at our Bubble Party!
Weather permitting; this program will be held outdoors.
Adult Career Fair – April 29
Are you a local job seeker ready to take the next step in your career? Bring your resume, a photo ID, and your best first impression to this free job fair. Local businesses are always looking for great talent, and this is an opportunity you won’t want to miss. The Career Fair is on April 29 from 1 to 4 p.m.
The library will provide free professional headshots, which will be emailed to participants after the event.
Conservation Division Events
The Kyle Parks and Recreation Department’s Conservation Division is staying busy this month. Catch up with them at one of their many April events.
Organic Gardening Class – April 18
Join us each month for a free Organic Gardening Class taught by Master Gardener Holly Wilson. Each session focuses on a new topic and offers practical, Central Texas friendly tips you can use right away. Registration is encouraged at KyleRec.RecDesk.com. This months class takes place Saturday, April 18 from 10 – 11 a.m. at the Kyle Community Garden, 193 Goddard.
Steeplechase Trail Cleanup – April 23
Looking for a way to give back to nature? Join the Hays County Master Naturalists for our monthly trail clean-up at Steeplechase Park! We meet on the fourth Thursday of every month from 8 – 10 a.m. and work together to remove invasive, aggressive plants to help our native species thrive.
Master Naturalist Led Bird Walk – April 25
Join us for a peaceful morning Bird Walk in Steeplechase Park. This slow-paced walk is perfect for all experience levels, including seniors and those with limited mobility. Participants will learn how to properly use binoculars, identify local and migrating bird species (such as warblers, swallows, orioles, and kingfishers), and enjoy the beauty of nature at a relaxed pace.
Conservation Connections – April 30
Conservation Connections is a free, once-a-month community presentation focused on local ecology, practical ways to help protect our environment, and tips for becoming a better environmental steward in our city. Join us and discover hands-on actions you can take to support local conservation from 7 – 8 p.m. at 208 Republic Drive, Kyle, TX.
