The City of Kyle Municipal Court is once again opening its doors for its annual Warrant Amnesty Program, giving individuals a safe and supportive opportunity to resolve unpaid citations and clear active warrants throughout the month of March.
The Amnesty Program will run every Wednesday in March from 1–4 p.m. at the Kyle City Hall Council Chambers, located at 100 W. Center St. Walk‑in docket dates include:
- Wednesday, March 4
- Wednesday, March 11
- Wednesday, March 18
- Wednesday, March 25
No appointments are required, and individuals who voluntarily appear will not be arrested. Spanish‑speaking interpreters will also be available to assist residents throughout the process.
“We are excited to offer this program again. It is vital to our commitment to provide excellent customer service,” City of Kyle Municipal Court Judge Andy Cable said. “Defendants are able to take care of unpaid tickets and outstanding warrants without the threat of arrest. I’m very optimistic and excited about this year’s amnesty program—last year was a huge success, and we hope to help even more residents this time around.”
This year, Kyle’s program will coincide with amnesty initiatives offered by surrounding agencies including the City of Buda Municipal Court and Justice of the Peace – Precinct 2, creating a regional effort to help people get back on track without the fear of arrest. For those who cannot pay their citations in full, several options remain available. Residents are encouraged to attend one of the walk‑in dockets to speak directly with the judge about payment plans, performing community service, or applying jail time served. A judge must approve these alternatives.
Individuals who do not need judicial review may also pay their full warrant amount at the court window Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Kyle Municipal Court handles the adjudication of Class C misdemeanor violations occurring within city limits, in accordance with Texas law and local ordinances. The Warrant Amnesty Program applies only to cases filed within the Kyle Municipal Court system.
