The Kyle Public Library is in the process of creating a Library Master Plan, which will serve as a long-term vision that ensures the Library continues to meet the evolving needs of our growing community.
At the December 3, 2024 City Council meeting, The Kyle City Council approved a contract with 720 Design, Inc. to develop a Library Master Plan.
Founded in 2007 by Maureen Arndt, 720 design Inc. is a boutique planning, architecture and interior design firm devoted to the development of modern library spaces where communities can gather to learn, play, dream, and explore. They have completed over 350 libraries across the country, bringing a wealth of knowledge, lessons learned and expertise to each unique library project. Local libraries they’ve worked on include New Braunfels, Round Rock, Seguin, and Dripping Springs.
Goals of the Kyle Public Library Master Plan include:
- Evaluating current trends and future needs to ensure the Library remains a vital resource for the community.
- Analyzing and recommending library trends.
- Projecting community growth.
- Determining how the library can best serve its residents.
Key aspects of the plan include forecasting space and staff needs as well as addressing programs, services, collections, and technology requirements to create a comprehensive roadmap for the Kyle Public Library.
Prior to the launch of the survey, the Kyle Public Library hosted Master Plan Open Houses, strategic focus groups with stakeholders, and toured relevant libraries with City Council and City Leadership to see excellent examples in action. The Master Plan is set to be presented to City Council in December 2025.
