March Into Fun with These Upcoming Events

The City’s Parks and Recreation Department and Kyle Public Library are bringing the community together all month long with activities for kids, teens, adults, and families.

Spring is in full swing in Kyle, and there is something happening around every corner. Whether you are looking to get outside, learn something new, connect with neighbors, or simply have fun, March offers countless ways to get involved and make the most of the season.

Parks and Recreation Events

Jams on the Green – March 5

Join us for a FREE community concert in the heart of Kyle! As the sun sets, settle in for live music, great food, and a relaxed, high-energy atmosphere. Bring your lawn chairs, grab a bite from local food vendors, and enjoy an evening filled with live performances including The Yokes and Austin Irish Dance at La Verde Park on March 5, from 6-9 p.m. 

Paint and Sip – March 6

Grab your friends and a bottle of wine and join us Friday, March 6 from 7-9 p.m. at 208 Republic Drive, Suite A. to experience a social and fun atmosphere where our artist instructor will walk you step-by-step to complete a piece of artwork. Great Texas River Cleanup – March 7

Make a difference in your community, join us for the Great Texas River Cleanup at Lake Kyle, 7001 Lehman Rd., at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 7. This volunteer-driven initiative is dedicated to restoring the health and beauty of our local creek by removing litter, debris, and pollutants that harm wildlife and the environment. Supplies, water, and snacks provided. Limited t-shirts available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

March Social Squad – March 10

Come check out the Social Squad, a social club for adults (15+) with disabilities. This month, we’re having a St. Patty’s Day Celebration with themed activities focused on social interaction, creativity, and community connection. Participants ages 15+ will engage in festive games, group activities, and seasonal crafts designed to encourage communication, cooperation, and fun in a supportive environment. National Plant a Flower Day – March 12

Celebrate National Plant a Flower Day with an easy, hands-on way to bring a little more life to your home and our community on Thursday, March 12 from 4-6 p.m. at Mary Kyle Hartson Park. paint your own 6-inch pot, then plant a 4-inch native pollinator plant to take home. You’ll leave with a finished pot, a new plant, and simple tips to help it thrive. 

March Movie in the Park – March 13

Grab your besties, throw on something pink, and get ready for a night of laughs, confidence, and movie magic with a showing of Legally Blonde at Lake Kyle Park, 700 Lehman Rd., starting at sundown, approximately 7 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring something to sit on, blankets and chairs are allowed at this free event and vendors will be on site.

RecZone Youth Disc Golf Night – March 27

The City of Kyle Parks and Recreation Department invites teens to join RecZone Youth, a new recreational program designed to bring young people together through fun, active, and social experiences.

Join the first session on Thursday, March 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Steeplechase Park for an evening of disc golf. Participants will learn the basics of the game while connecting with peers in a relaxed, supportive setting. Register at KyleRec.RecDesk.com.

Storytime at the Community Garden with the Kyle Public Library – March 28

Grab your little sprouts and join us for a morning of giggles, stories, and sunshine at Storytime at the Community Garden with the Kyle Public Library.

During each Storytime, picture books geared towards children between 3 and 7 years of age will be read. In addition to readings, a craft will be provided for participants. One of these readings will be Spanish or Bilingual Spanish/English.

March Mixed Doubles Pickleball Tournament – March 28

Join us for a day of friendly competition at the Spring Pickleball Tournament on Saturday, March 28. The event will feature two divisions — Under 50 and 50+ — and is open to players 18 and older, regardless of experience level. Display your artistic talents in our 3rd Annual Tiny Art Show!

Children ages 5-12 years can pick up a tiny artist kit from the library’s main desk. Return your mini painting to the library by March 25 to be part of the Tiny Art Showcase on March 28!

Teen Craft Night – March 10

Come hang out, vibe with other teens, and make your own custom Shrinky Dink keychain at Teen Craft Night on Tuesday, March 10 at 5:30 p.m. It’s creative, it’s fun, and it’s all just for teens!

Coping with Stress Workshop – March 12

Burnout isn’t just stress — it’s a signal that something deeper needs attention. In this workshop on March 12 at 6:30 p.m., participants will learn to recognize the signs of burnout, understand the emotional and physical toll it takes, and discover evidence-based strategies for recovery and prevention.

This workshop will be presented by Katarina Lane, MA, LMFT-Associate | Innerbloom Family Therapy, and Siobahn Garcia, MA, LMFT-Associate | Alliance Counseling.

Coffee and Conversation – March 13

Enjoy coffee and conversation every 2nd Friday of the Month at 10 a.m. Meet new friends and reconnect with old ones. We will offer coffee, tea, light snacks, and a variety of puzzles to work on together while you chat. If you enjoy crocheting, feel free to bring your supplies and enjoy the company of others while you create.

Master Gardeners: World of Herbs – March 14

Start your Saturday morning by exploring the world of herbs with Vickie Callahan of the Comal County Master Gardeners on March 14 at 11 a.m. In this informative and engaging program, participants will learn about growing, harvesting, and using a variety of herbs. Whether you are a beginner gardener or looking to expand your herb knowledge, this session will provide practical tips you can use at home.

Spring Break Programs

Celebrate Spring Break at the Library! Children and families are invited to explore, create, and play together in a fun, welcoming Library space each day at 1 p.m.

Crafty Creations — March 18

Adults 18 and older are invited to learn the unique craft of flower pounding and create colorful, abstract designs on fabric using nothing but flowers and a hammer on Wednesday, March 18 at 1 p.m. Connect with nature, release some energy, and make something beautiful.

Storytelling Night — March 19

Share your story and discover your voice every 3rd Thursday at the Library at 6 p.m. Whether you craft something original or reimagine a familiar tale, this is your space to play, experiment, and connect.

The theme for March is spring and growth. Explore our theme or choose a topic that inspires you. We’ll create the atmosphere—your imagination does the rest.

Craft Swap — March 21

Calling all crafters! Do you have supplies you no longer need or leftover materials from past projects? Bring them to our Craft Supply Swap and go home with something new to spark your creativity. Those who make a donation will receive a ticket for early entry to the event.

Page Turners Book Club — March 26

The Page Turners Book Club invites readers aged 18 and up to connect over a shared love of books. Every 4th Thursday of the month at 6:45 p.m., members explore a new title and come together for lively discussions, thoughtful insights, and community connection in a welcoming environment.

The Page Turners Book Club March read is The Busybody Book Club by Freya Sampson. This charming mystery brings together an unlikely group of book club members who find themselves wrapped up in a puzzling case, blending humor, community, and plenty of page-turning twists.

The Kyle Parks and Recreation Department’s Conservation Division is staying busy this month. Catch up with them at one of their many March events.

Organic Gardening Class: How to Prevent Pests – March 21

Tired of watching pests munch through your hard-earned garden? Join us for a practical, eco-friendly workshop focused on preventing garden pests before they become a problem at our Organic Gardening Class on Saturday, March 21 from 10 – 11 a.m. at the Kyle Community Garden, 201 Goddard.

Steeplechase Trail Cleanup – March 26

Looking for a way to give back to nature? Join the Hays County Master Naturalists for our monthly trail clean-up at Steeplechase Park! We meet on the fourth Thursday of every month from 8 – 10 a.m. and work together to remove invasive, aggressive plants to help our native species thrive. 

Conservation Connections: Kyle Wildlife – March 26

Conservation Connections is a free, once-a-month community presentation focused on local ecology, practical ways to help protect our environment, and tips for becoming a better environmental steward in the City of Kyle. This month, we’re talking about Kyle’s unique ecosystems and wildlife. Join us and discover hands-on actions you can take to support local conservation from 7 – 8 p.m. at 208 Republic Drive, Kyle, TX.

Master Naturalist Led Bird Walk – March 28

Join us for a peaceful morning Bird Walk in Waterleaf Park. This slow-paced walk is perfect for all experience levels, including seniors and those with limited mobility. Participants will learn how to properly use binoculars, identify local and migrating bird species (such as warblers, swallows, orioles, and kingfishers), and enjoy the beauty of nature at a relaxed pace.
