Kyle Parks Sparkle for the Season as Iconic Downtown Water Tower Gets its Own Glow

Each December, Kyle turns into a holiday wonderland. What started at Mary Kyle Hartson Park has grown to Lake Kyle and La Verde Park—and this year, the Kyle Water Tower is getting its own holiday glow-up.
A large, illuminated holiday ornament tunnel made of lights stands over a sidewalk at night, with more colorful light displays and decorations visible in the background.

Every December the City of Kyle goes all out for the holidays! Decorating our parks with twinkling lights, candy cane lanes, giant Grinch-y inflatables, and plenty of places of picture-perfect spots for families to enjoy all season long.

It’s one of Kyle’s great holiday traditions; the lights go on December 1 at nightfall and stay on, every night until January 2. What started at Mary Kyle Hartson Park has now expanded to Lake Kyle Park and La Verde Park and this year, we’re adding even more holiday cheer.

This month, the iconic Kyle Water Tower will get its own glow up! Right now, permanent LED lights are being installed, giving the beloved landmark a spectacular new look. Once illuminated, the water tower will join our parks in spreading holiday joy across town and when the season is over, the tower will stay lit all year round, changing colors with the season.

Even better, the lights will face downward to be dark skies compliant and this is just the first step in showcasing downtown Kyle’s water tower.

Stay tuned for the official water tower lighting date. We will share dates and times as soon as we can. Until then, enjoy the holiday lights at Mary Kyle Hartson Park, La Verde Park, and Lake Kyle Park. They’re on from sun-down to sun-up all month long.

Visit Events.CityofKyle.Gov for all the holiday fun planned this December.

*On Thursday, December 11 City of Kyle Parks crews tested the water tower lights to ensure they were working properly. Stay tuned for information on when the Kyle Water Tower will be lit full time.
