The City of Kyle Communications Department earned statewide recognition after taking home seven honors at the 2026 Texas Association of Municipal Information Officers (TAMIO) conference on June 4, 2026 in Austin, TX in a highly competitive year.
TAMIO reported a record-breaking 711 entries for this year’s awards program, with organizers noting that the overall quality of submissions was stronger than ever. - Photography – Multi-Image (population under 75,000) for a series of images captured at the 2025 Flag Day Ceremony at Heroes Memorial Park and shared on social media.

“We are so grateful to be able to serve our Kyle residents every day, delivering important and sometimes life-altering information on a daily basis,” said Public Information Officer, Alison Kelly. “We’re proud to deliver work that not only keeps our residents informed, but also engages and connects our community in meaningful ways.”
TAMIO has been in place since 1974 and was developed as a result of the increasingly complex role of public information in municipal government. TAMIO is an affiliate of the Texas Municipal League (TML) which was formed in 1913. Guided by its purpose statement — Empowering Texas cities to serve their citizens — the League helps city leaders meet the ever-changing challenges of governance.
TAMIO Awards are judged by the California Association of Public Information Officials (CAPIO), providing an independent judging process while also giving California Communications professionals valuable insight into the innovative work being done in other states.
The City of Kyle Communications Department is responsible for public communications for the City and its departments, including the City’s websites, social media channels, media relations, public engagement, community messaging, event promotion, Kyle 10 (channel 10), and the development of clear, accurate, and timely information for residents, businesses, visitors, and other stakeholders.
