Kyle Candidate Filing Now Open for November Election

Election season is underway in Kyle and candidate filings for the 2025 election are now open. This year, residents will vote for City of Kyle Mayor and City Council Districts 1, 2, and 3.

Kyle’s November 4, 2025 ballot will feature both general and special city elections. Residents interested in serving on City Council Districts 1, 2, or 3 or Mayor can now file for a place on the ballot.

Races on the Ballot

  • District 1 City Council: Filing runs from July 19 to August 18 at 5:00 p.m. The drawing to determine ballot order will be held August 21 at 5:15 p.m.
  • District 3 City Council: Filing runs from July 19 to August 18 at 5:00 p.m. The drawing to determine ballot order will be held August 21 at 5:15 p.m.
  • Mayor (Special Election): Filing runs from August 5 to September 3 at 5:00 p.m. The drawing will take place September 5 at 5:00 p.m. This race will fill the remainder of Mayoral term through November 2026.
  • District 2 City Council (Special Election): Filing runs from August 5 to September 3 at 5:00 p.m. The drawing will take place September 5 at 5:00 p.m.

How to File
Applications must be submitted in person to the City Secretary’s Office, located on the second floor of the Kyle Public Safety Center at 1700 Kohlers Crossing. All applications must be notarized. The City Secretary’s Office provides free notary service by appointment at 512-262-3981.

Key Voter Deadlines

  • Voter registration deadline: October 6, 2025
  • Early voting: October 20 to October 31 (times and locations to be announced)
  • Election Day: November 4 from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (locations to be announced)
  • Mail-in ballot requests: Must be received by the Hays County Elections Office by 5:00 p.m. on November 4
