Whether it’s repairing potholes, maintaining drainage systems, pouring concrete, or responding after storms, the City of Kyle’s Streets Division works every day to keep residents safe and connected. Leading those efforts is Street Superintendent Jesse Shroyer, who oversees the crews responsible for maintaining the city’s streets, sidewalks, and right of way infrastructure.
“It’s about getting our citizens back and forth to work and getting kids to school safely,” Shroyer said.
For Shroyer, the heart of the department is its dedication to serving residents. He says one of the team’s biggest priorities is responding quickly when issues are reported through the city’s 3-1-1 service system. Residents can use 3-1-1 to report concerns such as potholes, drainage issues, damaged sidewalks, or other right of way problems in their neighborhood.
“We take pride in our quick turnaround,” Shroyer said. “If something gets called in, we try to get it taken care of as quickly as possible.”

With more than 30 years of experience in the industry, Shroyer oversees a team of nearly 40 employees and says the department’s dedication, teamwork, and commitment to serving residents are what set it apart.
As Kyle continues to grow, Shroyer says the department remains focused on serving residents and responding when the community needs them most. “We work for the citizens of Kyle,” Shroyer said. “We are going to provide the quality product for them, for our citizens as far as everything that we do and be there for them when they need us.”
