Kyle at Work: Brooke Collins Keeps Kyle in the Game

On and off the field, Brooke Collins with the City of Kyle's Parks and Recreation Department works to keep Kyle residents moving.
Brooke Collins, the City of Kyle's Recreation Coordinator, holds a football, preparing to throw it, with a bright blue sky, scattered clouds, and stadium lights in the background in Kyle, TX.

From scheduling games to coordinating fields and special events, Recreation Coordinator Brooke Collins helps ensure Kyle’s athletic programs run smoothly for participants of all ages.

Collins organizes every athletic program the City of Kyle offers, including Wee-Ball and Tee-Ball, flag football, basketball, hockey, swim team, and tennis lessons for all ages. She doesn’t just coordinate programs, she brings them to life, creating opportunities for children and families to stay active and build confidence in the city they call home.

While game days are what residents see, much of Collins’ work happens behind the scenes organizing leagues, communicating with coaches, coordinating field availability, and preparing for upcoming programs.

This spring, Collins helped launch the city’s inaugural youth flag football league, giving young athletes a new way to get involved in recreational sports. From coordinating registrations and schedules to working with coaches and families, she played a key role in making the league a success. As Kyle continues to grow, Collins remains focused on expanding recreational opportunities and ensuring every participant has a positive experience on and off the field.

“My favorite part is actually being on site at the event, seeing all the hard work come to fruition,” Collins said. “Seeing the smiles on kids’ faces and families enjoying the event makes it all worthwhile.”
