Join Us in Celebrating the Kyle Police Department’s 2025 Award Recipients

The Kyle Police Department recognized the outstanding achievements of officers, supervisors, and civilian staff.
Three people stand indoors in front of a wooden wall; the man on the left wears a light cowboy hat and jacket, the woman in the middle holds an award, and the man on the right wears a suit vest and tie. All are smiling.

Each year, the Kyle Police Department takes time to recognize the individuals whose dedication, professionalism, and service make a lasting impact on both the department and community. The 2025 awards highlight officers, supervisors, and civilian staff whose daily efforts strengthen public safety, support their colleagues, and uphold the values of the organization.

KPD Awards

One of the department’s highest honors, Officer of the Year, was given to Officer Narvaiz for his exemplary service, leadership, and investigative skills, as well as his meaningful contributions to the field training program. The Rookie of the Year Award went to Officer Wolff, who has demonstrated initiative, adaptability, and sound judgment early in his career, earning the respect of colleagues through his strong work ethic and commitment to departmental values.

Two men stand indoors, smiling at the camera. One wears a cowboy hat and green plaid shirt, while the other, in a light patterned shirt, holds a clear glass award. The wooden wall behind them suggests a rustic setting.

Acts of extraordinary courage and decisive action were also honored during the ceremony. Sergeant Cleary received the Meritorious Conduct Award for his bravery during a SWAT activation involving a barricaded subject in Buda. Faced with uncertain threat conditions, Sgt. Cleary entered a residence alone to safely recover an 18-month-old child, ensuring the child’s safe extraction without injury and exemplifying the highest standards of law enforcement service.

Two Life Saving Awards recognized quick thinking and compassion under pressure. Officer Nava was recognized for his decisive response to a medical emergency involving a fellow officer, using situational awareness and the Heimlich maneuver to prevent a potentially fatal outcome. Another KPD Officer was honored for their response to a call involving a highly distraught individual. Through training, emotional intelligence, and personal connection, they maintained engagement until help arrived.

The Supervisor of the Year Award was presented to Sergeant Flores, whose leadership, mentorship, and accountability foster a professional, motivated, and collaborative work environment.

Several individuals were recognized with the Chief’s Pillar Award for their vital contributions behind the scenes and on the front lines. Lynnsey Dohmen was honored for providing critical, data-driven insights that enhance efficiency and support informed decision-making across the department. Tony Spano received recognition for ensuring operational readiness through proactive fleet management, streamlined processes, and innovative software solutions that support more than 130 department vehicles. Sergeant Congdon was recognized for championing officer health and wellness, developing and implementing a comprehensive Wellness Program that reinforces physical readiness and overall well-being. Ashley Minning was also honored for her leadership within the Emergency Communications Division and her role in developing the Real Time Crime Center, strengthening collaboration and operational effectiveness department-wide.

Additional recognitions highlighted teamwork and professionalism during complex incidents. Corporal Hamilton and Waters received a Certificate of Merit for their composure, communication, and empathy while assisting in the service of two Capital Murder warrants, resulting in a peaceful surrender. Commendations for exceptional performance were presented to Harley West and Lianne Whiteside for their coordination during a high-priority incident, and to Harley West, Maddison Eskew, and Elizabeth Christian for their professionalism and teamwork while responding to a fatal auto-pedestrian accident on Interstate 35.

The department also recognized the important role civilian staff play in public safety. Ashlee Bradshaw received the Civilian of the Year Award for her work in public information and community engagement.

Together, these awards reflect the dedication, courage, and professionalism of the Kyle Police Department. The City of Kyle extends its sincere congratulations and gratitude to all 2025 award recipients for their continued service to the community.
