Kyle’s budget development process is well underway. City staff, particularly the Finance Department, have spent months carefully evaluating City Council’s priorities, available funds, revenues, expenditures, and community priorities to develop a balanced budget proposal for City Council’s consideration.
“One of Kyle’s greatest strengths is its engaged and informed community,” said Assistant Director of Financial Services Holly Holt-Torres. “Our residents care deeply about their homes, neighborhoods, and the future of their city, and we want to make sure they have opportunities to stay informed and participate throughout the budget process.”
The formal budget process begins Saturday, August 1 at 5:30 p.m. at Kyle City Hall. During that meeting, the Interim City Manager, Perwez A. Moheet will present to the City Council the city’s proposed budget for Fiscal Year 2026-27.

On Thursday, August 13 at 6 p.m. at Kyle City Hall another Council Budget Planning Meeting will take place. This one covering the results of the 2026 Cost of Service Study update for water and wastewater services.
Following those two meetings, the first formal public hearing is scheduled for Saturday, September 5, at 5:30 p.m., during which the proposed budget, fees, utility rates, and property tax rates will be presented for public input. The second and final hearing will take place on Tuesday, September 15, at 7 p.m.
All of these meetings will be live streamed on the City of Kyle’s YouTube page and CityofKyle.gov for those unable to attend in-person.
Kyle community members that would like to provide public comments during the meeting, can register to speak in person before the meetings begin.
Though the budget process is picking up speed, City staff and Council have spent months building the next Fiscal Year’s budget to ensure the City’s priorities reflect the needs of Kyle today and into the future.
