Every day, Monday through Friday, sometimes weekends and many times after hours, a dedicated team works to keep Kyle running. They maintain roads, manage drainage systems, support infrastructure projects, and ensure the City operates safely and efficiently.
During the week of May 17 – 23, 2026, the City of Kyle proudly recognized these efforts as part of the 66th Annual Public Works Week, a nationwide observance of the essential services, and the people behind them, that keep communities running.

“These are the folks that maintain the roads, fix potholes, manage drainage systems, maintain city facilities, and provide engineering expertise to both public and private projects,” said Mike Trimble, Director of Transportation and Public Works. “We have a whole team working every day to make sure Kyle operates effectively.”
While much of this work happens in the background, its impact is felt across the community, especially during the severe weather events or periods of rapid growth, when strong infrastructure and reliable services are more important than ever.

“When everything is going well, people may not notice,” Kyle Council Member Marc McKinney said. “But when something goes wrong, this team is there, working quickly to make it right. You make the rest of us look good.”
During the Tuesday, May 19 City Council meeting, a formal proclamation was entered into the record honoring our public works professionals, recognizing their role in supporting infrastructure, facilities, and services that are vital to the overall quality of life for residents.
If you see our crews out in the field, be sure to say thank you, this is their week!
