The City of Kyle is proud to announce that City Manager Bryan Langley has been appointed by Governor Greg Abbott to serve on the Board of Trustees of the Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS), the statewide retirement plan for Texas cities.
The appointment, announced on October 21, 2025, places Langley among a select group of municipal leaders from across Texas who will help guide the retirement system that serves more than 940 Texas cities and over 260,000 active and retired municipal employees.
As a trustee, Langley will work to shape policies, review investments, and protect the financial security of city employees throughout the state. His appointment will continue through February 1, 2031.
“It’s an honor to represent the City of Kyle and the dedicated municipal professionals who keep our communities running,” Langley said. “I look forward to serving on the TMRS Board and contributing to the continued strength and stability of the retirement system that so many Texas public servants rely on.”
Langley’s appointment is a reflection of his extensive experience and proven leadership in municipal management, earning recognition among city leaders across Texas. His selection also highlights the City of Kyle’s growing reputation for strong, forward-thinking governance and its commitment to excellence in public service.
Langley brings a wealth of experience to the TMRS Board. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and an MBA from the University of North Texas, as well as a Master of Science in Accounting from the University of Texas at Dallas. Over his career in municipal government — which spans more than two decades — Langley has built a reputation for fiscal responsibility, strategic leadership, and community-focused management.
He is also an active member of both the Texas City Management Association and the International City/County Management Association, where he continues to advocate for excellence and integrity in local government.
