Life in Kyle

Frightfully Fun Things to Do in Kyle This October

From fall traditions and spooky celebrations to outdoor events and plenty of ways to enjoy the cooler weather, there’s a lot happening around Kyle this month.
Three young girls in animal costumes smile through the eye and nose holes of a large, decorative orange jack-o’-lantern cutout, outdoors in a park-like area.

October is full of traditions in Kyle, from the Founders’ Day Parade to Center Street Trick-or-Treat, it’s full of celebrations that bring the community together. With cooler weather finally settling in, there are also plenty of opportunities to get outside, enjoy local events and make the most of fall in Kyle. Here’s what’s happening around town this month.

Parks and Recreation Events

Kyle Founders’ Day Parade — October 10

Kyle’s birthday is coming up, and we’re keeping a longtime tradition going with the annual Founders’ Parade on Saturday, Oct. 10, at 11 a.m.

Kyle was platted and its first lots were sold around Oct. 15, 1880. Since then, mid-October parades through downtown have become part of the town’s birthday tradition. More than 140 years later, we’re still gathering to celebrate Kyle, remember the people who helped build this community and enjoy another day of small-town tradition.
