Nearly every Kyle resident has a connection to Center Street, whether they work or live along it, drive it on a daily or regular basis, or have attended one of the many City of Kyle events hosted along it.
As you may have heard, improvements for Center Street are included in the 2022 Road Bonds, also known as the voter-approved Proposition A.
These improvements have brought up a lot of questions as of late, which is understandable given their potential impacts.
On Thursday, August 27 at 6 p.m. City staff and Kyle City Council are looking to get some of those questions answered during a special meeting at Kyle City Hall, 100 W. Center St.
Discussion topics will include detailed overviews of the Center Street Off-System (maintained by City of Kyle), including Center St. from Veterans Dr. to Old Stagecoach Rd., and Center Street On-System (maintained by TxDOT), including Center St. from Veterans Dr. to Main St. Staff and Council will also discuss anticipated project impacts, cost projections, the status of right of way acquisitions, utility relocation considerations, potential impacts to adjacent properties and traffic, and next steps as the projects advance.
As this project moves forward, the City is committed to keeping the community informed and providing the most current information available. Any and all members of our Kyle community are encouraged to attend the meeting.

About the Kyle Road Bonds
In November 2022, Kyle voters approved Proposition A — a $294 million investment in our city’s future. These funds are helping us create safer streets, reduce congestion, and make it easier for everyone to get around.
The City of Kyle is kicking off 8 major roadway projects across Kyle, adding 10.3 miles of new and improved roads. The projects include:
- Marketplace Avenue Extension (complete)
- Kohlers Crossing to Seton Extension (under construction)
- Windy Hill Expansion (under construction)
- Bebee Road Expansion (under construction)
- Old Stagecoach Road Expansion
- Center Street
- Off-System Improvements (under construction) – also included in Old Stagecoach Road Expansion project for construction bidding purposes
- On-System Expansion
- Bunton Creek Road Expansion
- Kyle Parkway to Lehman Extension
