In early July, the City of Kyle launched its new Open Data & Transparency Portal, an online hub offering residents real-time access to city data, project updates, and performance metrics.
“This portal is a game-changer for transparency in Kyle,” said Assistant City Manager Jesse Elizondo. “It puts real-time data, city priorities and project updates right at residents’ fingertips. Whether you’re tracking a road project, checking performance metrics, or exploring how your tax dollars are spent.”
The City of Kyle is committed to transparency and open government. We want our residents to know exactly what is happening in their city. From what projects are underway and how much they cost, to what goals we’re working toward and when things will be completed, so everyone stays informed, involved and empowered.
Highlights include:
- An interactive Strategic Plan, tracking over 90 goals with real-time updates.
- Individual department pages with details on current work (pothole repair and response rates), departmental goals (responding to potholes requests within 48 hours), and individual budget breakdowns, including real-time spending (amount of money set aside and spent on street repair maintenance).
- A Capital Improvement Project (CIP) tracker offering detailed timelines, funding, and design updates for infrastructure projects.
We’re not done yet either — later this year, the City will release an interactive digital budget book to further improve accessibility. Built for residents, city staff and leadership, and community partners, the Open Data & Transparency Portal is now live and accessible to the public.
The launch follows the City’s first unified Strategic Plan, adopted in 2024, which laid the foundation for a more data-driven and goal-oriented approach to city management. The transparency portal brings that plan to life, offering the public a front-row seat to City Hall.
