The City of Kyle celebrated five standout members of Team Kyle during the Aug. 4 City Council meeting, recognizing employees whose work reflects the values the organization strives to bring to the community each day.
The Employees of the Quarter are nominated and selected by their coworkers, making the awards a meaningful opportunity for City staff to recognize the people they work alongside. One employee is honored for exemplifying each of the City’s five core values: visionary leadership, integrity, accountability, transparency and teamwork.
This quarter’s recipients are:
- Jacob Paz, Officer with the Kyle Police Department
- Recognized for visionary leadership during a traffic stop where his approach helped deescalate an emotional situation while still enforcing the law appropriately and responsibly.
- Tiffany McCool, Compensation and Benefits Specialist in the Human Resources Department
- Recognized for integrity while coordinating the City’s classification study and implementation plan, helping guide a complex and highly impactful project with professionalism and integrity.
- Amanda Fluitt, Staff Accountant with the Financial Services Department
- Honored for accountability by making it a priority to partner with those she works with so she can perform her role with accuracy, care, and excellence.
- Gabby Medrano, HRIS Administrator in the Human Resources Department
- Honored for transparency through building the Human Resources Department SharePoint page, which gives City employees easier access to important information.
- Bobby Dougherty, Lead Lift Station Technician with Water Utilities
- Recognized for teamwork shown by his willingness to share his expertise and the pride he brings to representing his team at public events.
The recognition gave City Council an opportunity to publicly thank the five honorees and celebrate the many ways their work supports fellow employees, City services and the Kyle community.
“These employees were chosen not only for the quality of their work, but for their character, professionalism, and commitment that they bring to their roles every day,” said Julie Beggs, Director of Human Resources and Civil Service. “Their nominations speak to the meaningful impact they have on their coworkers, departments, residents, and families that we serve.”
The Employee of the Quarter program and the City’s five core values were unanimously adopted by the Kyle City Council in September 2025. The City recognized its first group of honorees in February 2026, followed by the Quarter Two recipients in May.
The City of Kyle congratulates Paz, McCool, Fluitt, Medrano and Dougherty and thanks them for the skill, care and dedication they bring to Team Kyle.
