The City of Kyle celebrated five city employees during its May 5, 2026, City Council meeting, honoring staff members whose everyday work reflects the city’s core values and commitment to public service.
The Employees of the Quarter for Quarter Two of 2026 were selected by their peers for exemplifying visionary leadership, accountability, integrity, teamwork and transparency.
This quarter’s recipients are:
- Amanda Acosta, Customer Solutions Supervisor in the 311 Division of the Communications Department
- Recognized for visionary leadership and her work helping build Kyle’s 311 service from the ground up.
- Jonathan Lopez, Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator with Water Utilities
- Recognized for accountability and his steady dependability in serving the department and community.
- Ciara Chamberlain, Crime Analyst with the Kyle Police Department
- Honored for integrity and her careful work supporting accurate, trustworthy police data systems.
- Dillon Saunderson, Budget Manager in the Financial Services Department
- Honored for teamwork and his collaborative approach to helping departments navigate the city’s budget process.
- Jesus Hernandez, Outreach Librarian with the Library Services Department
- Recognized for transparency and his work bringing library resources into the community through outreach, events and partnerships.
During the presentation, Julie Beggs, Director of Talent and Culture, said the awards are especially meaningful because nominations are submitted throughout the quarter by employees and voted on by employees. That peer-led process gives city staff the chance to recognize coworkers they see living out Kyle’s values day by day.
Council Member Marc McKinney said recognition from peers carries special meaning. “I always felt like anytime I got a recognition from my peers, it just carried more weight,” McKinney said. He added that the honorees stood out in an already strong organization, calling the recognition “a huge testament.”
City leaders thanked the honorees for the work they bring to Kyle each day and said the program will continue recognizing employees who help keep the city running with care, service and teamwork.
The employee recognition program and the city’s core values were both unanimously adopted by Kyle City Council in September 2025.
