The City of Kyle invites residents to enjoy it’s annual Independence Day Fireworks Show on Saturday, July 4, beginning at sundown (approximately 9 p.m.) at Lake Kyle Park, 700 Lehman Rd.
This year’s event will look a little different from year’s past. Rather than a full-scale celebration which was previously held at La Verde Park, the City will host a fireworks-only show. There will not be a market, live music, or additional activities, just a spectacular fireworks display for the community to enjoy.
Fireworks will launch from Lake Kyle Park and the approximately 20-minute show will be visible from many locations throughout Kyle. Limited on-site parking (approximately 200 spots) and limited ADA Parking will be available at Lake Kyle, along with a designated viewing area. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early if they would like to park at Lake Kyle. Once all 200 spots are taken, no more vehicles will be allowed in.
Additional parking will be available at Steeplechase Park. Due to the limited availability of parking, we encourage people to carpool or utilize rideshare services.
Attendees at Lake Kyle Park are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets and other items needed for a comfortable evening outdoors. Personal food and coolers are welcome.
Please note that alcohol, glass containers and personal grills are not allowed at the park. Guests may use the on-site park grills. All park rules will remain in effect during the event.
Trash and recycling bins will be available on-site. Please help keep Lake Kyle Park clean by disposing of waste properly.
Residents viewing from elsewhere in Kyle should choose viewing locations wisely and avoid parking on curbs, shoulders, medians, or other unsafe areas. Fireworks are being launched by a professional crew with a sight distance of 600 feet.
This event is weather dependent.
Closures
Lake Kyle Park will close to the public on Friday, July 3 in order for crews to prepare the area for fireworks. The park will reopen at 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 4.
Masonwood Drive between Lehman Road and Whispering Hollow Drive will close at approximately 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 4, and will reopen once traffic clears after the fireworks show.
Safety
While fireworks are exciting for many, they can also be stressful for others. Residents are encouraged to plan ahead, take needed precautions, and check in on loved ones and neighbors who may need extra support during the holiday.
Pet owners are strongly encouraged to leave pets at home if going to watch fireworks, and keep them safely indoors during the show to reduce stress caused by loud noises.
Please keep in mind that the use, discharge, or sale of fireworks within Kyle city limits is strictly prohibited without a city-issued permit. Violations may result in citations and fines of up to $2,000. For more information, visit CityofKyle.gov/Fireworks.
