Recently in the heart of City Hall, just behind the permits and plans, something transformative has been unfolding. Over the past several months, the City of Kyle’s Building Inspections team has been quietly achieving some significant milestones to enhance their ability to serve the community. As of early July, every inspector in the Development Serivces Department is fully credentialed to perform all types of inspection under the department’s purview.
Getting there took time, commitment, and lots of studying. Just ask Anthony “Morris” Stribling, Anthony Vasquez, Jacob Bianchi, Chris Nguyen, and Allan Valles – all of whom just passed the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners Inspectors exam. Even more impressive is that they accomplished this in record time, not only showing strong technical skill but demonstrating exceptional dedication to their craft and the city.
Additional achievements within the department include:
- Michael Davis recently earned his ICC B2 Commercial Inspector certification, expanding the team’s capabilities in overseeing Kyle’s growing commercial landscape.
- Charlotte “Charlie” Lootens recently earned the IPMC Property Maintenance and Housing Inspector certification, strengthening knowledge of building codes which is essential for maintaining safe structures throughout the city.
- Allan Valles went a bit further, achieving the prestigious ICC C8 Combination Inspector status – a designation that signals top-tier knowledge across multiple inspection areas.
These certifications and achievements reflect the city’s commitment to ensuring thorough and timely inspections. They also give residents peace of mind knowing their homes and businesses are being inspected by highly trained professionals.
But achievements like this don’t happen in isolation. Behind this motivated and hardworking team is the Building and Code Inspection Supervisor, Chris Rogan, whose years of experience and commitment to staff development have strengthened the entire team. As a mentor and trainer, Chris has guided the inspection staff through these successes, helping turn individual accomplishment into a culture of excellence.
