Some exciting new places to eat are getting ready to call Kyle home.
From breakfast and brunch favorites to tacos, smoothie bowls, and frozen treats, here’s a look at what’s coming—and what’s being planned—as Kyle’s dining scene continues to grow.
New Restaurants Opening Near Sprouts
Three new retail buildings near Sprouts Farmers Market—about 18,000 square feet in total—are now fully leased, and several of the incoming businesses are focused on food and drink.

New dining spots coming soon include:
- Jeremiah’s Italian Ice – serving Italian ice, jelati cakes, and frozen treats for all ages
- Playa Bowls – offering smoothie bowls, fresh fruit, and healthy options
- Taco Clem – a fast-casual taco spot bringing bold flavors to the district
- The Toasted Yolk Café – a popular breakfast and brunch restaurant known for scratch-made favorites
These restaurants will open alongside other new businesses like Perspire Sauna Studio, Burn Boot Camp, Square Nails, and Skip’s Liquor, creating a mix of dining, wellness, and everyday services all in one area.
A Little Shady Is Coming to FM 1626
Looking a little further ahead, A Little Shady Restaurant is planned for 5172 S. FM 1626, with an anticipated opening in spring 2026.
Inspired by the laid-back charm of the former Shady Grove, A Little Shady is designed as a relaxed indoor–outdoor restaurant where people can gather, enjoy a meal, and spend time together. The goal is to create a welcoming neighborhood spot for residents and visitors alike—one that feels casual, comfortable, and very “Kyle.”
New Restaurant Planned Next to Heroes Memorial Park
Another exciting project is taking shape near Heroes Memorial Park. The City of Kyle recently approved an Exclusive Negotiation Agreement (ENA) with Common Ground, naming them the preferred development partner for a future restaurant next to the park in the Brick & Mortar District.
The restaurant site is located along FM 1626, between Heroes Memorial Park, Sprouts Farmers Market, and nearby retail buildings. The vision for this space is a family-friendly, destination-style restaurant that complements the park and enhances the overall experience for visitors. The restaurant would feature both indoor and outdoor seating and is intended to be a welcoming place to grab a meal, relax after time at the park, or meet up with friends and family.

Common Ground has experience developing community-focused restaurant projects across Central Texas, often working in partnership with cities and well-known restaurant brands. In Kyle, the goal is to create something that fits the character of the park, supports local activity, and serves as a welcoming gateway into the Brick & Mortar District.
Over the next several months, the City and Common Ground will work together on site planning, design ideas, and identifying a restaurant operator. Community feedback will play an important role before the project returns to City Council for final consideration. Residents are invited to share their thoughts on the look and feel of the building, landscaping, and overall atmosphere. An online survey is open through January 23, 2026, at SurveyMonkey.com/r/HeroesRestaurant.
